Who says school has to be boring? Shake things up a bit with these language arts bingo games!

Rhyme Time

Make rhyming fun by creating bingo cards. Draw or print a grid of sixteen to twenty-five boxes, and fill each box with pictures or words which can be easily matched with rhyming words. Next, make cards with words that rhyme with the pictures or words on the cards. Put the cards in a bowl or bag, draw them out one at a time, and read them aloud. Have children put a marker on the word or picture that rhymes. The first child to get four or five in a row wins!

The same bingo card can be used to have children identify pictures based on called-out words.
Change things up by creating an opposites or parts of speech bingo game.

Parts of Speech Bingo

Put the following parts of speech on a bingo card: noun, pronoun, adjective, verb, adverb.

Repeat each word four or five times, depending on your grid size. Create smaller cards including words that fit these parts of speech, and have student mark the correct part of speech on their card.
